April 5th 2016 BOSTON – State Representative David K. Muradian, Jr., (R-Grafton) has been named the 2016 Legislator of the Year by the Worcester County League of Sportsmen’s clubs at the 53rd Annual WCL Appreciation Banquet, which was held on April 2nd.
Rep. Muradian was presented with the award, which is a plaque recognizing his support of sportsmen’s issues in the State Legislature. As an enthusiastic advocate for the Second Amendment, Rep. Muradian works tirelessly on behalf of sportsmen in Massachusetts. He was endorsed by the Gun Owners’ Action League as well as the National Rifle Association when he initially ran for State Representative.
During this legislative session Rep. Muradian has filed a number of bills to help sportsmen and law-abiding, responsible gun owners including tax breaks for the purchase of gun safes and trigger locks. Another bill would give discretion to the Director of Fisheries and Wildlife to promulgate regulations for the use and possession of shotgun ammunition types depending on the hunting season. He also filed a bill that would protect legal gun owners forced to use their firearms to defend themselves or a loved one from an intruder in their home from civil liability.
“I was so honored and thankful to be named the Worcester County League of Sportsmen’s Club Legislator of the Year,” stated Rep. Muradian. “I work every day to protect the constitutional rights of sportsmen and legal, responsible gun owners across the Commonwealth.”
There was a bipartisan group of legislators on hand at the banquet to celebrate with the Club and with Representative Muradian. Present were Senator Anne Gobi, Representative Hanna Kane, Representative Susannah Whips Lee, Representative Kate Campanale, Representative Kimberly Ferguson, and Representative Jay Barrows.
