December 3rd 2015 BOSTON – Representative David K. Muradian, Jr. (R-Grafton) was excited to welcome students from Grafton High School yesterday.
The group of 33 students, members of the Law Class and the American Government class, were accompanied by teachers John McKeon and Renee Bailey as well as the school nurse, Lori Mahassel. They were treated to a tour of the building, led by Representative Muradian and a tour guide. The tour included visits to Memorial Hall, the Great Hall, the Senate Chamber and the Senate Balcony on the Bullfinch Front of the building.
The group visited to the House Chamber floor, where they were treated to a seat in the House seats for an explanation of the legislative process by Representative Muradian as well as a question and answer session. Following the tour the students walked from the State House to Faneuil Hall for lunch.
“It was wonderful to welcome such an intelligent, energetic, and respectful group of students to the State House,” stated Rep. Muradian. “The building was once occupied and used by some of our Nation’s most prominent historical figures to govern our great Commonwealth. It was particularly exciting to watch the kids make the connection between where they were standing and its significance to the creation of our country.”
