June 12, 2018 BOSTON – Representative David K. Muradian, Jr., (R-Grafton) was excited to welcome Northbridge High School students for a class field trip to the State House on May 29th.
The group of 87 students made up entirely of sophomores and juniors were accompanied by chaperones Jeffrey Kozik, Richard Dineen and Neil Polucha, as well as John Swayze, Jennifer Goodrich and Doug Brown. Representative Muradian treated the group to a tour of the building including stops in the Great Hall of Flags and a visit to the Executive Office.
The group also took a trip to the House Chamber where the students sat in the Members’ seats while Representative Muradian told them about the history of the Chamber and the building itself. While there, Representative Muradian arranged for the students to be recognized during informal session and to lead everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance. The tour also included trips to Doric Hall, Nurses Hall and Memorial Hall.
“It was wonderful to welcome such an intelligent, energetic, and respectful group of students to the State House,” stated Representative Muradian. “The Commonwealth has a long history in regards to the creation of our country. It was particularly exciting to watch the kids make the connection between where they were standing and its significance to Massachusetts.”
